Le titre du spectacle
Title of the show

The title of the show came from my father. He liked the way it sounded, the words together. Without really thinking further. Then came the idea that we all have, in some way, a personal oratorio, an hymn to the invisible, pagan, mysterious and secretive. Ours is an oratorio without oratory nor chants, it is fragile, it follows its own logic and its own music. The title adapted to the show little by little.

Is it your story? it is Autobiographical?

Every night I hope that it will become my story! To live in a chest of drawers, to have a train go through my midriff, to disappear in smoke and live in an inverted world: it is my story, of course, and it is yours too, if you are willing. it is the story of whom ever can decode it’s logic, whom ever is willing to get transported by it. yet the show is also, perhaps first and foremost, entertainment.

To work with your mother is harder or easier?

I don’t know. At the beginning of anything, you need a common desire, nothing is possible without it. Then, because she is my mother, I am material she knows: it’s more direct. not only because she is my mother. With a common desire, you could work with your worse enemy as well.

ça me fait rire.

I know and love her work, her universe… working together is our way of being a family. At times, I answer that she did everything in the show, myself included…it makes me laugh.

What would you like to say to someone who would come to see your show?
Qu’il vienne sans savoir. Comme une page blanche.
That he/she comes without knowing. like a blank page.

Chez vous, c’est où?
Where is your home?

It could be that my home is in the chest of drawers, the few minutes before the show. The notion of home, I carry it in myself. I find/seek  it in people I love, or in moments. In the gaze of perfect strangers at times. Details that you recognize. Then, of course, I also have points of reference, places I go back to, that I could recognize with my eyes shut. that I carry in me forever.

The audience is different from one country to the next? What is, for you, the ideal spectator?

The difference can be noted from one night to the other sometimes. Audiences are never the same, a show is never the same. the ideal spectator is the one who will enter the show, bring his/her own history to it, reveal to me, tp us, things we hadn’t yet discovered. this show works with the audience’s imagination. effects are very simple. Artisan like. Fragile. there is no death defying acrobatics. no big machinery. if there is magic, it is brought by the audience. it is a collaboration, between us, on stage, us and the audience and the audience and the show. every thing can brake any given moment. I am totally aware of it. you never know if it is going to work. it is the beauty and danger of theater. each and every night, you have to start over without really knowing.

Vous travaillez a un nouveau spectacle?
Are you working on a new show?

Yes we are. in parallel to touring this one. For now, we only have the ending. It’s always a good beginning, to know the end.
